About the Competition:

17th edition of the NALSAR-Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2024 is being organized by NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in collaboration with the Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust and in association with Vidhi Centre for Policy Research from 4th October to 6th October, 2024. The moot proposition revolves around the issue of Delimitation of Constituencies. The competition will take place in 2 stages.

Mode of Competition:

Location:

Campus of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad

Eligibility:

1. Students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate law courses are eligible for participation.

2. Only one team is allowed per institute.

3. Teams must comprise either 2 members (2 speakers, one of them designated as a researcher) or 3 members (2 speakers and 1 researcher).

Stages of the Competition:

1. Stage 1: Memorial Elimination Round

The teams will be evaluated on the basis of memorials submitted by them. Top 24 teams will be selected for the 2nd Stage.

2. Stage 2: Oral Rounds

The teams qualifying the first stage shall be eligible to participate in the oral rounds.

Important Dates:

1. Last date for Registration: August 31, 2024

2. Last date for seeking clarifications: August 30, 2024

3. Release of clarifications September 3, 2024

4. Memorial Submission Deadline: September 10, 2024

5. Memorial Elimination Round Results: September 20, 2024

6. Confirmation form submission deadline: September 22, 2024

6. Oral Rounds: October 04-06, 2024

How to Register?

1. Teams shall register themselves by submitting registration forms through Google forms.

2. Prior payment of registration fees is required.

3. Registration Fees is Rs. 7500/- per team.

Awards:

1. Winning Team Award: Cash prize of INR 75,000.

2. Runners-Up Team Award: Cash prize of INR 50,000.

3. Nani Palkhivala Award for Best Speaker: Cash prize of INR 50,000

4. Nani Palkhivala Award for Second-Best Speaker: Cash prize of INR 20,000.

5. Nani Palkhivala Award for Best Speaker in Finals: Cash prize of INR 10,000.

6. Best Memorial (Petitioner): Cash prize of INR 10,000.

7. Best Memorial (Respondent): Cash prize of INR 10,000.

8. Best Researcher: Cash prize of INR 10,000.

9. Second-Best Researcher: Cash prize of INR 7,500
