Established in 1989, the Faculty of Law at Jamia Millia Islamia has become one of India’s premier legal education institutions. It has consistently evolved through course restructuring, adoption of innovative pedagogy, and strengthening clinical legal education to align with the changing needs of the legal field. The faculty offers a five-year integrated B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program launched in 2002, a two-year LL.M. with specialisations in Personal Laws, Corporate Laws, and Criminal Laws, and also a Ph.D. in Law.

The Legal Research Committee, a student-led initiative at the Faculty of Law, promotes a strong research culture among students. It offers a platform for engaging with contemporary legal matters through research, writing, and dialogue. The committee organises workshops, paper presentations, interactive events, and competitions, all aimed at enhancing students’ critical thinking and legal research abilities through practical involvement.

About The Jamia Student Law Review Blog

The Jamia Student Law Review Blog is a student-run academic platform from the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia, that allows law students, researchers, and early-career professionals to share their views on emerging legal and policy issues. The blog publishes in-depth articles, case analyses, and legislative reviews, encouraging thoughtful critique and interdisciplinary exploration across law, politics, human rights, and public policy. As an extension of the Jamia Law Journal, it promotes academic writing within and beyond the university. Submissions from students across India and abroad are welcomed, offering a valuable opportunity to develop and showcase legal writing. The blog follows a peer-review process to ensure quality and supports contributors in refining their submissions, fostering a vibrant culture of legal scholarship.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must be original and unpublished, and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Only students from the Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia are eligible. Manuscripts must be submitted in .doc or .docx format only. Co-authorship is not permitted. Submissions through any mode other than the prescribed one will not be accepted. Articles are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Formatting Guidelines

Word count must range between 1000–1500 words. Font should be Times New Roman, size 12 for the main text and 14 for headings and subheadings. Line spacing should be 1.5. Plagiarism must not exceed 10–15%, failing which the manuscript will be rejected.
