Details of the Job

Kissht is hiring for the position of Legal Manager with 2 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Drafting and Vetting Agreements: 

  • Take the lead in drafting various agreements critical to the lending fintech’s operations, including loan agreements, service agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts. 
  • Ensure that these agreements are legally sound, accurately reflect the terms negotiated, and protect the interests of the lending fintech. 
  • Develop standardized templates and clauses to streamline the drafting process while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

2. Contract Management: 

  • Implement and maintain a robust contract management system to track and organize all agreements entered into by the lending fintech.
  • Establish processes for timely renewal, termination, and amendment of contracts, and ensure that key contract terms are communicated to relevant stakeholders.

3. Legal Risk Assessment: 

  • Conduct thorough reviews and risk assessments of proposed agreements to identify potential legal risks and liabilities. 
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on mitigating legal risks associated with contractual arrangements, including negotiating favorable terms and conditions.

4. Compliance Oversight: 

  • Ensure that all agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies governing lending activities. 
  • Stay updated on changes in legal and regulatory requirements impacting contract drafting and vetting processes, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.

5. Negotiation Support: 

  • Assist in negotiating agreements with external parties, providing legal guidance to achieve favorable outcomes while protecting the lending fintech’s interests. 
  • Collaborate closely with business development, sales, and other relevant teams to ensure alignment between negotiated terms and business objectives.

6. Vendor and Partner Relationships: 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and other counterparties involved in contractual arrangements. 
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess the legal and reputational risks associated with third-party relationships and implement appropriate risk management strategies.

7. Training and Knowledge Sharing: 

  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract drafting and negotiation best practices, ensuring that employees understand their roles and responsibilities in the contracting process. 
  • Share expertise and updates on contract law and industry best practices with colleagues to foster continuous learning and improvement.

8. Dispute Resolution Support: 

  • Provide legal support in resolving disputes arising from contractual agreements, including assessing legal rights and obligations, evaluating potential liabilities, and exploring alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

9. Quality Assurance: 

  • Establish quality assurance processes to review and validate the accuracy and completeness of all agreements drafted and vetted by the legal team, ensuring adherence to internal standards and best practices.

10. Cross-functional Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as compliance, risk management, and finance, to ensure that contractual arrangements align with broader organizational goals and objectives. 
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives requiring legal input or expertise, contributing to the overall success of the lending fintech.

Eligibility

  • Years of Experience- Minimum 2 years.
  • Qualification- LLB/ LLM.
  • The person should also have fundraising experience and FEMA-related compliance.
